The Aims of the Association
- The Strand, Aldwych and Trafalgar Square Association exists to foster, promote, protect, develop and maintain the best interests of all the shops, companies,corporations and institutions engaged in living and working in the Strand, Aldwych, Trafalgar Square and surrounding areas.
- The Association which was reformed in 1990, boasts over 100 members, and its strength and effectiveness depends upon the active participation of the Membership.
- There is continual close liaison with Westminster City Council, the Greater London Authority, Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police, the London Tourist Board, and with other Street Associations.

Principal Activities of the Association
The Committee meets regularly to discuss matters for the improvement and enhancement of the Environment for the benefit of members and the public. Issues include:
- Security, Infrastructure, Transportation, Cleansing, Licensing and Enforcement.
- A newsletter is published three times per year containing items of specific interest to Members.
- Members and Officers of the Council, the Police and other Authorities participate in Committee meetings, and members of the
Association may include subjects of concern on the Agenda through contact with the Executive Officer.
- The Annual General Meeting is held for members usually with a guest speaker, followed by refreshments.
- There is an Annual Summer Party for Members and Guests, the proceeds of which go to the Bruce House Appeal, SATSA's nominated charity.
- Other member events or meetings of interest to the members are organised on an ad hoc basis.

- Lobbying and canvassing of Local and National Government for the elimination of Rough Sleeping
Benefits of Membership
- To be a voice on the only representative body for the Business Community in the area.
- To have access, through the Association, to the highest levels of Government and Council Departments.
- To contribute to the enhancement of the Strand, Aldwych and Trafalgar Square and immediate areas.
- To have direct lines of communication with other companies, businesses and shops in the area.
- Discussions are taking place with Westminster City Council about further improvements to the eastern end of the Strand and Aldwych.

SATSA LATE SUMMER PARTY
The Association held their Annual Late Summer Party on Monday 26 September 2005 at The Waldorf Hilton, WC2, 6.00p.m - 8.00p.m.
The Guest of Honour was Wayne Sleep.
It was the eleventh consecutive year that the Association had supported its benefiting charity, Bruce House (information regarding Bruce House and its work can be found on the website).
Tickets included a free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets were sold on the night.
All monies raised from ticket and raffle sales went directly to the charity.
The Chairman and Commitee are grateful to all members and their guests who attended the party.
